Design Engineer, Sustaining

Compensation range: $62,900–$116,900 per year

What you will do

• Analyze existing designs and implement changes to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical support for production issues, field failures, and customer escalations.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to resolve product issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design-related problems.
• Develop and maintain design specifications, test protocols, and change orders.
• Support regulatory compliance, third-party testing, and design validation using CAD, DFMEA, CFD, and FEA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in sustaining engineering, product support, or a related role.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to build effective partnerships in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with heat transfer, fluid flow, or electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
