Backend Developer (Python, AI)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; hybrid. The role includes support for customers during US hours.

Salary: 68,750–81,250 SEK per month, depending on the equity offer.

hirify.global builds an AI tax preparer used by accounting firms to automate tax preparation, planning, review, document processing, and related workflows.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services for AI tax preparation, planning, and review products.
• Develop Python services for tax computation, document processing, and agentic workflows at scale.
• Own APIs and data models supporting the wider product.
• Build deep integrations with tax software used by accounting firms.
• Develop reliable data pipelines for documents, returns, and evidence during tax season.
• Make LLM-powered pipelines reliable, observable, accurate, and production-ready while monitoring metrics and improving the systems.

Requirements

• Strong Python experience building and operating production services and APIs.
• Deep understanding of agent-first development, including daily use of coding agents and control of LLM-driven workflows.
• Strong React and TypeScript knowledge, including the ability to control systems beyond backend development.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, queues, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud and/or Azure.
• Comfort making decisions with incomplete data and working in a high-paced environment.
• Empathy, curiosity, collaboration across product, engineering, and tax, and a detail-oriented but pragmatic approach.
• Ownership of work and willingness to accept accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience in fast-paced startups or regulated industries.
• Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 and supporting real users.
