Senior Accountant

Location: Remote within the United States

What you will do

• Own key monthly and quarterly close workstreams, including journal entries, IBNR, OPEX accruals, capitalized commissions, reconciliations, and accounting estimates.
• Maintain general ledger and systems integrity while ensuring accurate balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting.
• Perform monthly flux and variance analysis and explain material movements to finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Partner with FP&A, Payroll, Benefits, AR, and department leaders to resolve operational accounting issues and improve close coordination.
• Design and implement scalable accounting procedures, internal controls, and process improvements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Use AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to automate manual work, accelerate the close, document processes, and support audits and special projects.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting, month-end close, and general ledger operations.
• Experience with flux or variance analysis and communicating findings clearly to finance leadership.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and multi-entity environments.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including large datasets, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or an equivalent ERP system.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting findings to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational, ownership, integrity, self-motivation, teamwork, and independent-working skills.

Nice to have

• Active CA/CPA or candidacy for CA/CPA.
• Foreign currency transaction experience.
• Knowledge of Leases (ASC 842), Internal-Use Software (ASC 350-40), or Capitalized Commissions (ASC 340-40).
• Experience with FloQast and Zip.
• Hands-on experience applying Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools to accounting workflows.
