Senior Accountant (AI)

Location: Remote in the US and Canada, with optional offices in Washington, DC; New York; Denver; San Francisco; and a coworking pod in Seattle.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 base salary, plus company-wide bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Own spend management across Ramp and Navan, including card setup, coding reviews, receipt and policy compliance, reimbursements, repayments, and employee support.
• Manage accounts payable from invoice intake through payment and own cash application, AR aging, unbilled receivables, and funding-date tracking.
• Support monthly close through journal entries, accruals, prepaids, cash and intercompany entries, payroll-to-GL reconciliations, and audit preparation.
• Prepare bank, balance-sheet, spend-platform, and GL reconciliations with audit-ready support.
• Maintain GL-to-subledger integrity, correct integration breaks and miscoding, and keep department and account coding aligned with the organization.
• Build process improvements and AI-assisted workflows, including AR controls connected to tax-credit transaction timelines and HubSpot-to-GL reconciliation.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years at a venture-backed or small, fast-moving startup.
• Hands-on ownership of AP, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close tasks.
• Experience with modern spend-management tools such as Ramp, Brex, Navan, or Expensify and a cloud-based GL.
• Exceptional reconciliation skills and comfort working with data across multiple connected systems.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups and reconciliation workbooks.
• Ability to follow established processes, improve them, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and communicate clearly with non-finance teams.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Hands-on experience building AI-assisted accounting workflows and automating repetitive work.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Nice to have

• Deep Ramp experience, including administration, card and policy setup, and accounting integrations.
• Multi-entity or intercompany accounting experience.
• Exposure to fund, partnership, or project accounting; clean energy; financial services; or a regulated broker-dealer.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience with Rillet, Rippling, HubSpot, or AI tools such as projects, skills, or connectors.
