Senior DevOps Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States, Eastern Time Zone only; occasional off-shift availability is required for production issues or maintenance.

Base salary: $106,000–$150,000 USD annually for US-based employees, plus eligibility for bonus or commission and equity.

What you will do

• Operate, scale, and troubleshoot SaaS cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, efficiency, and security.
• Design and solve complex system-level challenges spanning multiple components, while anticipating performance and scalability issues.
• Build self-optimizing infrastructure systems and use AI to accelerate feature delivery, including manual and staging validation before production deployment.
• Manage the operational quality, cost, and ROI of AI-driven infrastructure automation.
• Lead design discussions, advise multiple teams, document infrastructure practices, and break complex problems into parallel workstreams.
• Mentor early-stage senior engineers on system design.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps or Operations Engineer in a SaaS environment.
• Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS, and general automation scripting with Bash and Python.
• Deep experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Strong expertise in infrastructure-as-code principles and tools such as Terraform.
• Fluency with AI tools for infrastructure delivery and the ability to safely validate, govern, and measure the ROI of AI-assisted automation.
• Strategic thinking, including understanding the customer’s job to be done and using empirical data to guide decisions.
• Bias for action, accountability, and proactive communication of project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
• Team-oriented organization and excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab, and configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, JSM, Datadog, Sumo Logic, ELK, or Groundcover.
• Strong understanding of network engineering and security principles, including Internet protocols, firewalls, and routing.
