Professional Services Data Center Deployment Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Durham, NC, with remote work available within the US for the right candidate; US citizenship required. Travel up to 60% domestically and internationally is required.

Base pay: $76,000–$96,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Assess customer site readiness, infrastructure requirements, and deployment risks, recommending actions for successful implementations.
• Determine installation, configuration, testing, and validation approaches for assigned deployments within established standards.
• Rack, cable, configure, deploy, and validate complex compute, storage, and networking systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, network, and system issues and implement effective solutions.
• Serve as the primary on-site technical resource, coordinating with customers, project managers, engineers, vendors, and support personnel.
• Document deployment decisions, configurations, test results, issues, outcomes, and process improvements; mentor less experienced team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an AAS degree or higher is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting data center, compute, network, or infrastructure deployments.
• Experience installing CAT6, fiber, power, and DAC cabling and building, configuring, or repairing compute servers.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate available information, and select appropriate actions within established standards.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites, manage changing conditions, and communicate decisions, risks, and status clearly.
• Experience with data center environments and safety practices.
• US citizenship, a valid driver's license, and ability to travel up to 60% are required.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux.
• AAS degree or higher.
