Linux Systems Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; direct W2 employment only, not open to C2C or 1099.

Salary: $115,000–$165,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, provision, configure, and operate cloud and infrastructure components using approved architecture patterns.
• Automate provisioning, deployment, configuration, and operational tasks.
• Implement security, identity, networking, backup, monitoring, and availability controls.
• Investigate incidents, capacity issues, vulnerabilities, and performance problems.
• Maintain runbooks, diagrams, standards, and change records while collaborating across engineering and operations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience is stated for the position; the requirements section also references a typically applicable 4+ year threshold.
• Professional experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or systems operations.
• Practical experience with Linux administration, shell scripting, systemd, networking, storage, patching, monitoring, and hardening.
• Hands-on knowledge of relevant cloud, operating-system, container, or automation technologies.
• Understanding of networking, identity, security, monitoring, and availability fundamentals.
• Experience with scripting, automation, source control, or infrastructure as code.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues methodically.
• Strong documentation and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Additional hands-on depth in the listed Linux, systems, networking, storage, patching, monitoring, and hardening areas.
