Professional Services Engineer - Federal (AI)

Location: Washington, DC; remote work with regular travel to customer sites and SCIFs

Anticipated compensation: $175,000–$225,000 annually.

What you will do

• Deploy and optimize hirify.global Global Data Environment architectures across complex, multi-site, classified infrastructures.
• Architect and execute large-scale automated migrations from legacy NAS/SAN systems into hirify.global virtual file systems without downtime.
• Develop Python, Go, or Bash automation scripts, hooks, and API integrations for customer workflows and infrastructure.
• Advise defense and intelligence agencies on secure networking, metadata management, and cross-domain data movement.
• Diagnose and resolve storage, network-performance, and Linux system bottlenecks on-site and in real time.

Requirements

• Current, verifiable TS security clearance required.
• 5+ years of experience in professional services, enterprise storage engineering, or systems architecture.
• Deep knowledge of NFSv3/v4, SMB, and S3 object storage.
• Expert Linux administration across RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu, including kernel parameters, networking stacks, and performance tuning.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Go, or advanced Bash scripting for infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on knowledge of DNS, routing, firewalls, VMware, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Familiarity with InfiniBand and RDMA/RoCE networking technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with GPFS, Lustre, parallel file systems, or scale-out NAS.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, RHCE, CISSP, or similar relevant certification.
