Senior Associate Software Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Remote within the United States; listed locations include Hartford, CT; Boston, MA; Providence, RI; and New York, NY.

Annual base salary: $87,800–$144,800, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the InsuraMatch team to conceive and develop scalable, performant, and secure solutions.
• Perform analysis, development, testing, debugging, configuration, incident investigation, documentation, monitoring, and alerting.
• Support cloud and physical networks, servers, operating systems, Serverless, Linux, and Windows platforms.
• Support production operations, deployment automation, monitoring, security, and development-process improvements.
• Create and maintain build scripts, templates, and other infrastructure artifacts.
• Support application cloud migrations, including analysis, tuning, and re-architecture to meet business requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work or military experience.
• Familiarity with cloud services from AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• System administration experience in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments, plus an understanding of servers, networks, storage, and networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of MySQL, SQL queries, and schema design.
• Experience or knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous improvement, test-driven development, and/or behavior-driven development.
• Development skills in some of React, Angular, Node, and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of information security best practices and automated deployment methods such as Chef or Puppet.
• Familiarity with agile development tools and practices, including Jira, Confluence, and Git.
• Strong written and oral communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders.
