Sr. Financial Analyst, Treasury Product Control

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site and the remaining days remote.

What you will do

• Produce daily risk, profit and loss, economic revenue, management, and financial reporting for Front Office, Finance, and Risk Management.
• Perform product control procedures, reconcile market positions and accounting records, obtain Front Office sign-off, and maintain supporting documentation for month-end attestations.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies, coordinate issue resolution across teams, summarize findings and recommendations, and take preventative action.
• Lead assigned project streams and provide subject-matter-expert and business-analysis support for internal and CIBC-wide initiatives.
• Gather automation requirements, document process improvements, and recommend enhancements to data analysis and business support.
• Support new treasury product and strategy launches by assessing economics, hedge accounting, technology and DFE implications, documenting requirements, and leading readiness testing.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of and experience with Treasury products in a Finance, Accounting, or Product Control environment.
• Proficiency in data analytics and programming tools such as SQL, Python, VBA, and Alteryx.
• Superior analytical ability, including investigating complex problems and interpreting detailed information.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present detailed information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Finance, Front Office, Technology, Accounting Policy, Treasury Controllership, Finance Modernization, GPO, and other infrastructure groups.
• Proactive, self-disciplined approach with strong conceptual and organizational skills, including the ability to translate insights into workable project plans.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada at the specified location, with a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Nice to have

• Professional designation or progress toward one, such as CPA, CFA, FRM, or MFin.
• Previous project management experience.
