Senior Financial Analyst, Syndicate Accounting

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site and the remaining days remote.

What you will do

• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely accounting inputs for Investment Banking financial reporting.
• Provide account attestations and substantiate balance sheet accounts.
• Support accounting governance for underwriting deals and Mergers & Acquisitions transactions in line with industry practices and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, M&A, regional offices, Regulatory Reporting, the CFO team, stakeholders, and external brokerage firms to resolve issues.
• Maintain process maps and task manuals while implementing accounting policy and requirement changes through controlled processes.

Requirements

• Current CPA accreditation in good standing or progress toward a CPA designation, plus 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in Capital Markets accounting or Investment Banking accounting related to underwriting and M&A businesses.
• Experience supporting oversight and governance functions and enhancing financial controls across multiple groups.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements for financial instruments.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from different backgrounds and experiences.
• High standards, relationship-building skills, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.
