EHS Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Alhambra, California, with regular support to the City of Industry, California campus; approximately 80% Alhambra and 20% City of Industry

Salary: $65,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Support EHS programs and compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety training for employees and contractors.
• Conduct and support internal and external audits and inspections, tracking corrective and preventive actions to closure.
• Prepare EHS reports, records, regulatory documentation, filings, and permits.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, hazardous materials, chemical inventory, and hazardous waste programs.
• Participate in the Emergency Response Team, including training, drills, and responding to on-site emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience supporting EHS programs in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of applicable EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state/local requirements.
• Experience supporting audits, training, compliance reporting, and regulatory documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management software or systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage on-site emergencies and support the Emergency Response Team outside standard working hours as needed.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing/industrial environment, regularly spend time on the production floor, wear required PPE, and respond to emergencies at both California campuses.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor or high-reliability manufacturing.
• CSP, ASP, CIH, or another professional safety certification.
• Experience with EHS management systems such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
• Experience with hazardous materials or waste management, chemical inventory systems, or industrial hygiene monitoring.
• Previous Emergency Response Team, fire brigade, or similar emergency preparedness experience.
