Deputy General Manager, Agentic AI

Location: Remote-first, with occasional travel centered on clients or the team; role is based in McLean, Virginia and requires U.S. government Secret clearance or higher.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Investigate government mission needs and workflows to identify practical applications for agentic AI.
• Develop problem statements, use-case briefs, assumptions, dependencies, evidence, and recommended next steps.
• Coordinate strategy, sales, product, engineering, and delivery teams through validation, proposals, pilots, prototypes, and customer engagements.
• Own defined projects and workstreams by building plans, coordinating contributors, tracking milestones, and surfacing risks and decisions.
• Prepare analyses, decision briefs, status updates, and handoffs for the General Manager and senior stakeholders.
• Track resources, costs, outcomes, and lessons learned while stepping directly into execution when needed.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience across operations, strategy, consulting, product or program management, technology deployment, or a combination of these areas.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, political science, or another applicable field.
• At least 1 year of direct government experience, including civilian or active-duty service, or indirect experience through a consulting firm.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop practical approaches, and drive work to completion with varied teams.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and influencing contributors without formal authority.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into quantified recommendations and actions.
• Working fluency in AI and software-enabled solutions, with the ability to engage technical teams and connect capabilities to users; this is not a software engineering role.
• Sound judgment, adaptability, and willingness to move between research, planning, coordination, and execution.
• Familiarity with federal customers, national security missions, or government technology adoption and acquisition.
• U.S. government Secret clearance or higher is required.
