Senior Associate, Energy Transactions - Capital Formation (Renewable Energy)

Location: Madison, WI, with additional locations in Houston, Dallas, Milwaukee, Austin, Chicago, and USA Remote. Candidates from all locations are welcome to apply; discuss work location requirements with the talent acquisition professional.

Salary: $78,500–$126,400 annually.

What you will do

• Evaluate renewable energy infrastructure investments across solar, storage, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen.
• Build financial models and analyze project economics, cash flows, tax attributes, and risk-adjusted returns.
• Underwrite tax equity and other project finance transactions to optimize investor returns and capital efficiency.
• Support due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and closing with developers, sponsors, legal counsel, tax advisors, lenders, and other counterparties.
• Review development assumptions, engineering reports, legal documents, and third-party diligence to identify investment risks.
• Prepare Investment Committee memoranda, marketing and business development materials, and research on financing structures, transaction activity, and regulatory developments.

Requirements

• 4-year degree and at least 3 years of professional experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, project finance, or consulting; energy or power industry exposure is preferred.
• Experience building three-statement and tax equity models, cash flow projections, and other financial analyses for investment decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
