Fund Operations Senior Associate - Distributions

Location: New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA; hybrid work from the office at least two days per week, on Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday.

Base salary starts at $110,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity.

hirify.global's Belltower fund services division provides fund administration and management services for syndicates, venture funds, and rolling funds, integrating financial reporting, tax, compliance, portfolio management, and related services with hirify.global software.

What you will do

• Review distribution requests and supporting documentation before payments are initiated.
• Coordinate cash distribution and wire workflows, including payment instructions, approvals, payment tracking, and failed or returned payments.
• Review investor and fund data, ownership information, payment instructions, and distribution allocations across systems.
• Investigate discrepancies, exceptions, and operational breaks, escalating material issues and following them through resolution.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for calculations, approvals, payments, and key decisions.
• Improve workflows, controls, standard operating procedures, and automation opportunities, including the use of technology and AI.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in private equity, venture capital, private funds, fund administration, or investment operations.
• Experience supporting middle- or back-office operations for private investment funds, with exposure to distributions, capital activity, treasury or payments, investor operations, or similar fund lifecycle activities.
• Working understanding of private fund structures and the operational relationship between funds, investors, portfolio investments, and fund administrators.
• Experience with high-volume, detail-oriented operational processes where accuracy, controls, and deadlines are critical.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review financial and operational data, identify inconsistencies, and investigate discrepancies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear issue communication, appropriate escalation, and stakeholder alignment.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and comfort working with financial data and large datasets.
