Senior Accountant

Location: Fully remote across the United States; all work must be performed within the U.S. Core collaboration hours are 10:00 AM–4:00 PM ET. Occasional travel of up to approximately 10% and twice-yearly in-person gatherings are expected.

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 per year, plus stock option grants.

What you will do

• Own the month-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, supporting schedules, and close-process improvements.
• Prepare monthly GAAP income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, variance commentary, and financial inputs for boards, investors, audits, and lenders.
• Apply ASC 606 to customer contracts; maintain revenue schedules, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables; and document accounting policies.
• Own monthly billing, customer invoice resolution, accounts receivable aging, collections, and finance partnership with Customer Success and Sales.
• Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, expenses, payroll and benefits journal entries, and accurate QuickBooks Online coding.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, tax filings, internal controls, and workflow automation with the CEO.

Requirements

• Progressive responsibility across accounting roles, including ownership of the month-end close.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Hands-on revenue recognition experience under ASC 606, ideally with usage-based, B2B, or services contracts.
• Ability to independently produce accurate GAAP financial statements.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and strong spreadsheet skills.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication with customers and executives.
• Comfort with shifting priorities and willingness to support varied accounting work.
• Demonstrated success improving a finance process, such as shortening the close, automating a manual task, or standardizing a workflow.
• Curiosity about AI and automation, willingness to experiment with new tools, and a self-directed, reliable approach in a fully remote environment.
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting audits or financial reporting at a startup or small company.
• Familiarity with billing platforms, AP automation, or FP&A tools.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools or automation in accounting workflows.
