Manager of Accounting

Location: United States; remote

Base salary: $105,000–$131,500 for other U.S. locations or $120,000–$150,000 for the SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and NYC, plus variable compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the order-to-cash cycle across transaction-based revenue streams, from billing setup through cash application and reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate billing, cash application, revenue recognition, controls, and audit support.
• Apply U.S. GAAP revenue recognition judgment and explain decisions to auditors and business partners.
• Coach and develop the accounting team, set expectations, review work, and build accounting knowledge.
• Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Legal, and Finance to resolve billing questions and competing priorities.
• Identify manual work for automation, test controls, document decisions, and escalate risks to the Corporate Controller.

Requirements

• Active CPA license.
• Accounting management or team-lead experience, including coaching, review, and setting clear performance expectations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP.
• End-to-end ownership of billing, accounts receivable, cash application, or order-to-cash workflows.
• Experience with transaction-based billing, usage-based revenue, or another activity-driven invoicing and recognition model.
• Experience improving accounting processes while preserving controls, accuracy, and audit support.
• Ability to make routine accounting decisions independently and communicate the reasoning clearly.
• Clear communication with Customer Success, Sales, Legal, and Finance when resolving billing issues or competing priorities.
• AI proficiency is required, including the ability to use AI in repeatable workflows, explain workflow failures, and verify outputs before they affect the books or customer billing.
