Accounting Manager (SaaS)

Location: Rockville, Maryland, US; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop the Revenue Lead and General Ledger Lead.
• Own the month-end close and financial reporting, including review and approval of the team’s work.
• Oversee revenue recognition under ASC 606, deferred revenue, annual recurring revenue reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and sales and use tax and VAT compliance.
• Manage the annual external audit and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Partner with Finance and company leaders on reporting, forecasting, and strategic projects.
• Use AI and automation to accelerate the close and improve reporting and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or experience at a high-growth company, with 3+ years managing accounting staff.
• Deep knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles, including ASC 606 for software-as-a-service or subscription businesses.
• Proven ownership of the month-end close and annual external audit.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.
• Curiosity about AI and a track record of using automation to improve accounting work.
• Pre-employment screening is required, including criminal record, consumer credit, employment history, qualifications, and education checks.

• Experience with FloQast, Avalara, Ramp, or Expensify.
