Software Engineer (ISR Mission Systems)

Location: Getafe Area, Madrid, Spain; hybrid model with 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Administer advanced Linux environments, preferably SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, and manage engineering and production infrastructure.
• Design automated provisioning, image management, configuration management, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Install, configure, and maintain engineering and support tools, including ticketing systems, problem report repositories, Atlassian products, and database services.
• Design, deploy, and scale highly available production environments, virtualized platforms, and containerized workloads.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, system hardening, monitoring, and logging solutions.
• Develop infrastructure automation and custom tooling, participate in on-call rotations, and lead incident response.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of experience in a related field.
• Strong Linux system administration experience; SUSE/SLES experience is a significant plus.
• Hands-on experience with AutoYaST, Ansible, or SUSE Kiwi for automation and provisioning.
• Advanced Bash and Python skills, plus systems-level programming capability with C++ or Go.
• Experience with vSphere, KVM, Docker, and Kubernetes/K8s.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Understanding of system hardening and infrastructure security principles.
• Experience with monitoring stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Zabbix.
• Experience installing and configuring enterprise tools, Atlassian products, ticketing systems, and database services, plus familiarity with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Candidates must meet all legal and professional requirements for the role.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as SUSE Certified Engineer, Red Hat, or CKA.
• Experience managing physical hardware and data center operations.
