Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: Sant Joan Despí (BCN), Spain; hybrid schedule with 3 days of remote work and regular office attendance.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and manage AWS Landing Zones and foundational cloud infrastructure.
• Support migration of application stacks to AWS through rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring while maintaining performance, security, and scalability.
• Manage Kubernetes and Docker-based deployments, including Open Source Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Amazon ECS environments.
• Automate infrastructure and application deployments with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Install and maintain operating systems, cloud-native tools, monitoring solutions, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, improve system security, and develop scripts to reduce manual intervention.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of extensive hands-on AWS experience, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, Route 53, and AWS Organizations.
• Proven experience migrating application stacks to AWS through rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring.
• Mandatory experience with container orchestration, such as Kubernetes and/or Amazon ECS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform and Ansible.
• Solid Linux/Unix systems administration experience, plus virtualization and containerization experience with technologies such as VMware and Docker.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Nagios, and performance tuning for application stacks including Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, and NGINX.
• Understanding of networking concepts including the OSI model and TCP/IP.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and strong scripting skills with Bash or Python.
• High level of English required.

Nice to have

• Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
• Knowledge of CIS, NIST, or other security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience in telecom or mobile network environments.
• Understanding of GSMA security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with SAFe.
