Java Developer (Middle Office Transformation)

Location: Remote for residents of Georgia, Serbia, Spain, Cyprus, Armenia, Portugal, or Poland; hybrid work is available in Kraków or Limassol. Relocation assistance is available to Poland or Cyprus.

What you will do

• Develop on-premise and cloud software for capturing trading transactions and calculating positions.
• Build near real-time services that provide accurate views of trades, positions, P&L, performance, valuation, and financial asset data.
• Advance the Middle Office transformation initiative and deliver more efficient business workflows.
• Provide standardized interfaces for technology teams to access accurate investment information.
• Work with hedge fund business stakeholders and cross-functional team members on complex technical and business problems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of programming experience, including 5+ years of Java development.
• Expert Java Core and multithreading experience.
• Experience with Kafka and/or other real-time messaging systems.
• Experience with distributed caching technologies such as Memcached or Ignite.
• Experience developing distributed, large-scale, data-intensive applications.
• Expert SQL and database query experience.
• Experience or knowledge in financial domains, including transactions, positions, P&L, and performance management; financial services experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Strong analytical ability to learn independently from code and reverse engineer.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
