Senior Director, Platform Experience (AI)

Salary: $223,000–$294,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the experience vision and architecture for Pioneering Intelligence’s shared AI platform.
• Define how scientists work with AI agents and design end-to-end scientific workflows from research through production UI and QA.
• Develop a coded design system and pattern library adopted across Pioneering Intelligence and the Flagship ecosystem.
• Shape the use of AI-assisted design and development tools within an AI-driven product lifecycle.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, ML researchers, computational biologists, scientists, and PI leadership.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of product design experience, including design leadership for complex technical or scientific platforms.
• Experience unifying separate tools into a coherent platform experience that achieves user adoption.
• Production experience shipping AI products, including agents, LLM-powered workflows, or retrieval over proprietary data.
• Experience designing for trust and explainability so users can verify AI output and actions.
• Experience designing for life-sciences R&D, researchers, and scientists, or another technically complex domain with the ability to learn new areas quickly.
• Experience building coded design systems and pattern libraries adopted by multiple teams.
• Ability to design object models, information architecture, and navigation across multiple products and surfaces.
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, including polished production-ready UI beyond wireframes.
• Ability to prototype in code and apply AI-assisted design and development tools to connect design intent with working software.
• Ability to use interviews, observation, and usage data for product and roadmap decisions, and communicate strategy, trade-offs, and resource needs to leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with scientists, founders, and builders across a life-sciences or similarly complex ecosystem.
• Experience evaluating emerging design and development tools and integrating effective tools into team workflows.
