VP of Design

Location: Onsite at hirify.global HQ in New York, United States. Hiring is unavailable in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.

Salary: $260,000–$280,000 annually, plus eligible incentive, equity, and benefits.

hirify.global is a New York-based technology company building mobile and web products for youth sports communities, including coaches, parents, athletes, and fans.

What you will do

• Define and communicate the design vision, represent Design on the product leadership team, and explain priorities, tradeoffs, and impact to executives and the board.
• Guide customer-centered mobile and web experiences in partnership with Product and Engineering.
• Set standards for interaction, visual, motion, copy, and accessible design; lead critiques and provide hands-on direction through sketching and prototyping.
• Own the shared design system and design language across iOS, Android, and web.
• Lead, coach, develop, and recruit product design managers and designers while strengthening design practices, tooling, and collaboration.
• Embed research, discovery, prototyping, and AI-assisted workflows into product decisions and connect design outcomes with activation, engagement, retention, and revenue.

Requirements

• 10+ years designing consumer mobile and web experiences and 6+ years leading design organizations, including experience as the most senior design leader in a company or major business unit.
• Experience building or transforming a design practice in a growing technology company while priorities, products, and ways of working evolve.
• Current expertise in user experience, interaction design, visual design, design systems, research, and prototyping, including modern design and AI-assisted tools.
• Experience managing design leaders through regular coaching, clear direction, and constructive critique.
• Ability to influence senior peers, communicate with executives and boards, shape product strategy with Product and Engineering, and connect design decisions with customer and business outcomes.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong craft, measurable impact, and the organizations and practices built behind the work.
