Senior Product Designer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Williamsburg, New York City, NY; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $145K–$170K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end product design from problem definition and research through prototyping, delivery, iteration, and production quality.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to shape requirements, evaluate feasibility, and make tradeoffs across customer-facing portals and internal tools.
• Translate complex healthcare reimbursement workflows, data, and business rules into clear, intuitive experiences.
• Conduct customer conversations, usability testing, and focused research; use prototypes to validate assumptions and refine solutions.
• Improve visual quality across hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction patterns, UI states, and design QA.
• Evolve shared design-system components and use AI tools in exploration, prototyping, and product problem-solving.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of product design experience, including substantial work with complex B2B software, fintech, financial, or accounting products.
• Experience owning a product line or significant product area and collaborating directly with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking, visual craft, shipped outcomes, and clear design decisions and tradeoffs.
• Ability to translate complex workflows, information, and business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
• High proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, components, and design systems.
• Effective use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, with the ability to incorporate Cursor or Codex into prototyping and product development workflows.
• Ability to independently conduct focused user research and turn findings into concrete design decisions.
• Initiative, clear communication, openness to feedback, and sound judgment when advocating for design decisions or making practical compromises.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate in person through the New York City hybrid model; US work authorization without current or future employer sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience as an early design hire or on a small design team at a growing startup.
• Experience designing financial, accounting, or similarly complex products with detailed workflows and interconnected data.
• Experience designing for healthcare or another regulated industry.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems across multiple product areas.
• Experience designing AI-powered or agentic experiences, including user understanding, guidance, and review of automated work.
