Senior Product Designer - AI Experiences

Total cash range in New York: $187,000–$261,500 annually, with potential pay up to $299,000 based on sustained performance. Ranges also vary by location.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end design for AI-powered travel shopping experiences from opportunity framing through launch and iteration.
• Design cohesive conversational, visual, and multimodal interfaces that make AI capabilities intuitive, transparent, and understandable.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Researchers, and Content Designers to shape AI product direction.
• Prototype and evaluate evolving AI outputs, interaction patterns, edge cases, and customer feedback through research, analytics, and experimentation.
• Develop design patterns, frameworks, and best practices while mentoring designers and championing accessibility, inclusion, and responsible AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, UX, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in product design, UX design, interaction design, or a related discipline.
• Portfolio demonstrating shipped digital products and strong interaction design, visual design, and customer-centered problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in interaction design or visual design, with complementary strength in prototyping, research, facilitation, information architecture, content strategy, or UX writing.
• Experience designing complex product experiences with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Understanding of communicating AI confidence, uncertainty, recommendations, limitations, and failure states.
• Ability to simplify ambiguity and explain design rationale to engineers and senior leaders.
• Proficiency with Figma and experience contributing to shared design systems and scalable component libraries.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping conversational, recommendation, generative, voice, or multimodal AI products.
• Experience designing for trust, transparency, explainability, and human oversight in AI-assisted experiences.
• Hands-on prototyping with AI tools, model outputs, LLMs, or generative AI systems.
• Motion design for system state, AI reasoning, progress, transitions, and feedback loops.
• Experience in travel, ecommerce, marketplaces, fintech, or other high-consideration decision-making products.
• Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, behavioral analytics, and data-informed product design.
