Expert Project Controls Analyst

Location: Hybrid work from a remote office and an assigned location within the PG&E Service Territory; Oakland, California

Annual salary: $143,976–$179,988

What you will do

• Lead advanced project controls activities across cost management, schedule management, and/or earned value management.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, scenario models, and predictive insights for major projects.
• Build and automate dashboards and reporting tools connecting cost, schedule, scope, resources, and earned value data.
• Validate and integrate contractor and internal schedules, maintain baseline integrity, and analyze delays, changes, milestones, and critical paths.
• Establish project controls standards, datasets, methodologies, and quality requirements across projects.
• Resolve complex problems independently, support lower-classification analysts, and provide technical guidance and recommendations to managers and directors.

Requirements

• BA or BS degree from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent international degree, or equivalent experience.
• Project Scheduler Professional (PSP) certification.
• 7 years of experience as a project analyst in PCA, Senior PCA, PMA, or Senior PMA roles; external hires require at least 8 years of applicable experience.
• In lieu of a four-year degree, 11 or more years of directly related experience in accounting, construction management, project scheduling, or project controls may qualify; external hires using this option require at least 13 years of applicable experience.
• Ability to resolve complex-scope problems independently with limited supervisory feedback and use discretion and independent judgment.

Nice to have

• Expert-level proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, and reporting platforms.
• Leadership skills.
