Data Center Operations Technician (SiteOps) (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in Palo Alto, California, United States; the data center operates around the clock, with night, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts.

Base pay: $30–$50 USD per hour, depending on experience and skills.

What you will do

• Monitor servers, network devices, and facility alerts; triage incidents and restore service safely.
• Diagnose and replace failed drives, memory, power supplies, fans, network interface cards, and optics.
• Use Linux and SSH to inspect logs, investigate faults, and verify repairs.
• Receive, stage, rack, cable, label, and power up servers, switches, and power distribution units.
• Handle on-site support and urgent incidents during on-call shifts, coordinating with infrastructure engineers and vendors.
• Maintain spare-parts inventory, asset records, physical audits, vendor repairs, warranty claims, RMAs, and secure hardware disposal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a data center or comparable mission-critical environment, including hardware, industrial, or manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing server, storage, and network hardware.
• Basic Linux skills, including SSH access and log reading.
• Working knowledge of rack installation, power cabling, and copper and fiber cabling.
• Careful, methodical adherence to safety procedures, labeling, and verification.
• Collaborative communication skills and ownership of issues through resolution.
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lb (23 kg), push, pull, bend, kneel, use ladders, work in tight spaces and hot or cold aisles, tolerate loud equipment and extended periods on foot, and use required personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting liquid-cooled server racks.
• Familiarity with NVIDIA GPU-based AI infrastructure, especially B300 systems or GB300 NVL72 rack-scale platforms.
• Experience deploying, maintaining, or troubleshooting hardware in AI-focused or hyperscale data centers.
