Data Center Operations System Engineer III (AI)

Location: Columbus, OH Data Center; onsite 5 days per week, with 2 shifts providing 12 hours of total coverage. Travel to bring up new data center locations may be required.

Salary: $108K–$144.5K annual salary; salaried non-exempt and eligible for overtime.

What you will do

• Rack, label, cable, configure, and deploy new server, storage, network, and GPU infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across advanced GPU and networking systems.
• Document data center layouts and network topology in DCIM software and maintain installation standards.
• Coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing, product management, support, and other teams on large-scale deployments and operational requirements.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment through delivery, staging, deployment, handoff, RMA, and replacement workflows.
• Partner with hardware support teams to resolve complex incidents, document solutions, and disseminate best practices.

Requirements

• Experience with critical data center infrastructure, including power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management.
• Familiarity with carrier DIA circuit testing and turn-ups, fiber testing and troubleshooting, cable optics, and multiple cable media types.
• Solid understanding of single- and three-phase power theory, PDU balancing, cold-aisle and hot-aisle containment, server hardware, and the boot process.
• Ability to structure, collaborate on, and iteratively improve complex maintenance MOPs.
• Ability to translate business priorities into technical and operational requirements and support cross-functional infrastructure projects.
• Action-oriented approach and willingness to train junior staff on best practices.
• Willingness to work onsite in Columbus 5 days per week across two shifts providing 12 hours of total coverage.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience with critical data center infrastructure systems.
• Knowledge of network topology, network configurations, and 400Gb Infiniband architectures.
• Experience with or knowledge of DDP or SCM cluster storage systems.
• 3+ years working with and reporting from ticketing systems such as JIRA and Zendesk.
• Advanced Linux administration experience.
• Experience with high-performance computing GPU systems, including air- or water-cooled systems and Nvidia NVL72.
