Data Center Operations, Site Lead (AI)

Location: South Carolina; other location: Santa Clara, California. This is an on-site role with business-hours coverage and an after-hours on-call rotation.

Salary: $150K–$200K plus equity.

hirify.global is building a multi-silicon neocloud for fast, efficient AI inference by combining large-scale compute infrastructure with an execution platform that maps AI workloads to suitable hardware.

What you will do

• Build and lead the site team, including DC Technicians, inventory, and facilities staff; establish training, coverage, on-call responsibilities, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain site readiness across power, cooling, networking, compute, inventory, and physical security, identifying risks and tracking them through resolution.
• Hold the colocation provider accountable for contracted service levels, maintenance quality, recurring failures, and corrective actions.
• Own operational acceptance of new capacity, including readiness criteria, commissioning evidence, documentation, spares, trained responders, and critical-deficiency closure.
• Establish operating procedures, emergency runbooks, maintenance calendars, change controls, approvals, rollback plans, and escalation paths.
• Direct incident response, hardware break/fix, asset and rack documentation, access control, safety enforcement, vendor coordination, and site operating spend.

Requirements

• Experience owning operations for a data center or comparable mission-critical facility, with direct accountability for reliability, safety, people, and service restoration.
• Experience bringing a new facility or major expansion into service and building the required team, procedures, vendor relationships, and acceptance standards.
• Experience hiring and developing technical teams and holding service providers accountable.
• Strong working knowledge of power distribution and redundancy, cooling and liquid-cooling interfaces, networking, server hardware, monitoring, inventory, and physical security.
• Experience leading serious incidents and controlling high-risk maintenance or changes in live environments.
• Ability to establish operating discipline in ambiguous environments, communicate risks early, follow issues through closure, and act as the senior on-site representative.
• Comfort working on site, supporting an on-call rotation, and responding to urgent events outside normal business hours.

Nice to have

• Customer-side experience overseeing a colocation provider, including service reviews, maintenance audits, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Experience creating operating standards adopted across multiple sites.
• Experience with high-density AI or HPC deployments, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, CDUs, and building-to-IT cooling interfaces.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, ticketing, asset and maintenance systems, and automation for reporting and site operations.
• Experience improving reliability through technician training, emergency drills, preventive maintenance follow-up, and repeatable operating standards.
