Data Center Operations Production Specialist

Location: US-VA-IAD3, Ashburn, Virginia; office/data center based. Tuesday-Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm EST on a 4x10 schedule; 24x7x365 coverage, including holidays and weekends, is required.

Salary: $73,336.00-$107,521.70 per year, depending on geographic market, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional incentive compensation, equity awards, and ESPP may be available.

What you will do

• Configure, install, deploy, and troubleshoot customer hardware and infrastructure in the data center.
• Build and modify x86-based servers; install Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Server, Ubuntu Linux, and VMware ESX.
• Configure LAN connectivity, remote access, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, security appliances, and storage systems.
• Assign physical locations and IPs, optimize data center space and power usage, and complete copper and fiber cabling.
• Provide technical communication and customer support while investigating incidents and risks through root cause analysis.
• Act as the technical escalation point for DCOPS Technician I staff and coordinate onboarding and technical training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a university or college degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of data center or equivalent technology experience and at least 2 years of experience building, repairing, or upgrading hardware are required.
• Experience with Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant rack servers is required.
• Experience with Cisco ASA/ASA-X firewalls, F5 BigIP and Brocade ADX load balancers, and Alert Logic IDS is required.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst 2900, 4900, 6500, and Nexus switches and ASR routers is required.
• Experience with Dell PowerVault DAS, NetApp and EMC Isilon NAS, and EMC VMAX and VNX SAN systems is required.
• Experience leading root cause analysis investigations and prioritizing escalated issues in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is required.
• Technical training sessions for data center staff must be prepared and delivered.
• Professional written and verbal communication, proficient typing, phone etiquette, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Open Office, and email clients are required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds overhead, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel occasionally for 2-4 weeks per year are required.
