Sys Admin, Motion Capture Support Specialist

Location: Onsite in the United States, Los Angeles, CA; onsite availability is required. The role primarily supports the Santa Monica motion capture stages and collaborates with the San Diego stages.

Base salary: $100,700–$151,100 USD annually.

What you will do

• Serve as technical lead for motion capture stages, including associated servers, workstations, and specialized tools.
• Act as the primary liaison with the Creative Arts Motion Capture team and align IT services with business requirements.
• Assess infrastructure needs and recommend improvements to performance, stability, data availability, and security.
• Manage storage systems, monitoring tools, critical hosts, and services.
• Document system configurations, workflows, and network diagrams while serving as the primary contact for stage issues.
• Coordinate with Studio IT, provide mentorship and training, and support varying shoot-day schedules, on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant IT experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation using Python.
• Proficiency with previsualization and production tools, including Motion Builder and Maya.
• Proficiency with digital asset management and version control using Perforce.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, license servers, virtual machines, SQL, and VMware.
• Familiarity with Unreal and other game engine tools.
• Strong background in troubleshooting automated Linux deployments.
• Specific on-set stage experience in virtualized production.
