TL;DR
Power Integrity Engineer (Power Delivery/Silicon): Developing and validating power delivery networks for complex, high-speed silicon, packages, boards, and platforms with an accent on electromagnetic modeling, power-noise analysis, and decoupling optimization. Focus on correlating pre-silicon simulations with laboratory measurements, characterizing voltage regulators, and translating silicon power requirements into package- and platform-level specifications.

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; hybrid work with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site.

Annual salary: $105,650–$172,860 USD.

Company

Intel designs and manufactures silicon products and technologies for connected digital devices.

What you will do

  • Develop and analyze power delivery networks for silicon, packages, boards, and high-speed platforms.
  • Perform 2D/3D electromagnetic model extraction and analyze impedance, voltage droop, resonance, ground bounce, power noise, and decoupling effectiveness.
  • Define power-grid specifications, power-noise budgets, design targets, test structures, analysis methodologies, and verification plans.
  • Conduct laboratory measurements of power noise, transient response, ground bounce, and other power delivery metrics.
  • Correlate post-silicon and platform measurements with pre-silicon simulations and models.
  • Collaborate with silicon integration, die floorplanning, package, board/platform, voltage regulator, and validation teams on end-to-end power delivery solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related STEM field with 1+ year of experience, or a master’s degree in one of these fields with 0+ years of experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in power integrity or power delivery, power electronics, signal integrity, voltage regulator design or validation, PCB/package electrical modeling, electrical simulation, or electrical laboratory testing and validation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PCB and/or semiconductor package design and technology.
  • Experience analyzing power delivery networks, including impedance, voltage noise, transient response, and decoupling behavior.
  • Experience with electrical simulation, electromagnetic extraction, or high-speed design tools such as HSPICE, Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Cadence PowerSI, or Cadence PowerDC.
  • Knowledge of transmission-line theory, electromagnetic fields, passive component parasitics, and voltage regulator operation and transient response.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, voltage/current probes, power supplies, and related laboratory equipment.
  • Experience correlating simulation results with laboratory measurements.
  • Programming or scripting experience for engineering analysis and automation using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work model combining on-site work at the assigned Intel site with off-site work.
  • Competitive pay, stock bonuses, health benefits, retirement benefits, and vacation.
  • Full-time experienced-hire position on Shift 1 in the United States.
  • Equal employment consideration is provided regardless of legally protected characteristics.
