Network Engineer (Network Engineering, Senior Associate)

Location: Lexington Park, Maryland, United States; on-site five days per week. Travel to other sites may reach 40% as needed. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance.

Salary: $130,000–$175,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and sustain enterprise voice, video, and data network infrastructure.
• Support Unified Communications and VoIP environments, including Call Manager, voice gateways, SIP, and call routing.
• Perform technical planning, requirements analysis, engineering assessments, and modernization support.
• Develop network architectures, technical specifications, implementation plans, diagrams, SOPs, and engineering reports.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, QoS, VLANs, WAN connectivity, network security, latency, jitter, packet loss, and call-quality issues.
• Support integration, testing, implementation, sustainment, technical reviews, BOM evaluation, and process improvements.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience supporting Federal Government, DoD, or defense-industry network engineering efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
• Cisco CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Collaboration, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, WAN technologies, network security, network design, implementation, testing, and sustainment.
• Understanding of VoIP, Unified Communications, Call Manager, SIP, voice network architectures, TCP/IP networking concepts, and communications technologies.
• Experience developing technical documentation, engineering reports, and network diagrams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and SharePoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work professionally with personnel at all organizational levels.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance are required. The clearance process considers financial background aspects.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, SIP trunking, voice gateways, call routing, dial plans, and Unified Communications technologies.
• Experience with QoS, VPNs, multicast, and network performance optimization.
• Familiarity with DoD enterprise network infrastructure and communications systems.
• Experience with technical planning, strategic analysis, and system modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and cybersecurity requirements.
