TL;DR
Emerging Talent & Onboarding Program Manager (AI): Build and operate Mercury’s new-hire onboarding, internship, and apprenticeship programs with an accent on program design, facilitation, and participant experience. Focus on using AI and automation to scale program systems, supporting managers and mentors, and improving programs through feedback and data.

Location: Hybrid and based in San Francisco, with regular office time for apprenticeship programs; support interns in San Francisco and New York both in person and remotely.

Salary: $121,700–$152,100 USD annual base salary for US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Company

Mercury is a financial technology company offering SaaS products; banking services are provided through partner banks and Mercury is not an FDIC-insured bank.

What you will do

  • Own new-hire onboarding end to end, including the learning arc, facilitator coordination, cohort communications, feedback, and preboarding partnership with People Operations.
  • Launch and operate the apprenticeship program, including cohort programming, executive exposure, rotation check-ins, and host-team partnerships.
  • Strengthen the internship program through shared onboarding, community, regular check-ins, and a clear point of contact.
  • Support managers and mentors with expectations and resources for hosting new hires, interns, and apprentices.
  • Build scalable program systems with AI, automation, and tooling; use feedback and data to maintain quality and improve outcomes.
  • Partner with Recruiting, People Operations, and Mercury leaders to communicate the company’s investment in early-career talent.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience building and running programs, ideally in Learning & Development, People programs, early-career talent, or onboarding.
  • Strong program management skills, including turning ideas into plans, organizing multiple workstreams, and following through from launch to iteration.
  • Experience leading sessions or training and translating learning needs into effective facilitation.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools, with the ability to assess when they help and apply them to program design.
  • Systems thinking: identify patterns in pain points, connect them to program design, and solve them systematically.
  • Creativity and comfort with ambiguity across established and newly created programs.
  • Clear, warm communication skills across welcoming participants, facilitating groups, and writing concise messages; strong attention to detail and openness to changing direction.

Nice to have

  • Experience with early-career, university, internship, apprenticeship, or employee onboarding programs.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work with in-person workshops, programming, and apprentice support in San Francisco.
  • Support for interns in San Francisco and New York through a combination of in-person and remote experiences.
  • Total rewards include base salary, equity through stock options or RSUs, and benefits.
  • Mercury is committed to diversity, belonging, equal employment opportunity, and reasonable recruitment accommodations.
  • Compensation is adjusted based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity.
