Intern, AI & Automation Engineering (AI)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; onsite corporate office environment

Salary: $19.00–$32.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support strategic projects under the guidance of a technical mentor.
• Document and organize enterprise AI use cases, including objectives, stakeholders, intake details, and expected outcomes.
• Gather and synthesize data on AI adoption and value, including usage trends, feedback, and basic time-saved or quality measures.
• Create enablement materials such as quick-start guides, FAQs, office-hours content, and safe-use reminders.
• Assist with lightweight testing of AI solutions and workflows, including prompt patterns, failure modes, and recommended practices.
• Participate in scheduled intern events and provide ad hoc project support.

Requirements

• Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another STEM-related program.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts, including generative AI, hallucinations, bias, privacy considerations, and other common limitations and risks.
• Familiarity with productivity and analytics tools such as Excel and exposure to data-querying languages such as SQL.
• Ability to work independently and exercise strong technical judgment.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, organization, initiative, quality, and time-management skills.
• Ability to sit and work at a desk or personal computer for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, and travel commercially and internationally.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python or similar scripting tools.
