Summer Intern - Cybersecurity Operations & AI Automation (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based out of the Bridgewater, NJ office; remote most of the time with in-person collaboration as needed.

Pay range: $20.00–$35.00 hourly.

What you will do

• Build AI-driven automation for cybersecurity vulnerability reporting and prioritization.
• Develop and test Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integrations connecting AI assistants with vulnerability scanners, ticketing systems, and SIEM platforms.
• Analyze vulnerability scan data and prioritize risk using CVSS, EPSS, and the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.
• Create remediation lists for asset owners and trend summaries for leadership.
• Support alert triage, log review, phishing analysis, and exposure to vulnerability management, endpoint, identity, and cloud security tools.
• Collaborate with SecOps, Vulnerability Management, GRC, and IAM teams.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Solid foundation in cybersecurity concepts, including vulnerabilities, threats, risk, networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, ports, and protocols.
• Programming experience in Python, including REST APIs and JSON data.
• Familiarity with AI and large language model concepts, including prompting, tool or function calling, and AI agents.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn new tools, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Progress toward or completion of a security certification such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CC, or Google Cybersecurity Certificate.
• Hands-on experience with MCP, LangChain, or similar AI agent and integration frameworks.
• Exposure to vulnerability management, SIEM, or EDR tools through coursework, home labs, CTFs, or prior internships.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF or MITRE ATT&CK.
