AI Forward Deployed Engineer (GenAI): Developing and productionizing customer-facing GenAI applications with an accent on RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, fine-tuning, and production deployment. Focus on solving customer problems with production-grade AI, advising customers, shaping product priorities, and communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Location: Remote applicants must be based in Germany; preferred locations are Munich, Berlin, and Frankfurt. Travel to customers once every 4–8 weeks as needed.

What you will do
- Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions using techniques from Databricks AI research to solve customer problems.
- Own production rollouts of consumer-facing and internal GenAI applications.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers across multiple domains.
- Present at conferences and build recognition as a thought leader internally and externally.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and shape the product roadmap.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience.
- Experience building GenAI applications, including RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, and fine-tuning, using tools such as HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.
- Expertise deploying production-grade GenAI applications, including evaluation and optimization.
- Extensive hands-on industry data science experience with tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
- Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Operations Research, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience communicating or teaching technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passion for collaboration, lifelong learning, and driving business value through AI.
Nice to have
- Experience using the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark to process large-scale distributed datasets.
