TL;DR
Senior AI Software Engineer (Python/AWS/GenAI): Building scalable backend services, AI-powered features, and data pipelines that combine real-time market data, news, and GenAI for investment products with an accent on end-to-end ownership, pragmatic architecture, and production delivery. Focus on evaluating when LLMs outperform ML models or heuristics, deploying reliable AWS systems, and improving observability and performance.
Location: Remote in Germany, with offices in Karlsruhe, Berlin, and Munich; in-person workshops and team events take place several times a year in Karlsruhe. Up to 15 workation days per calendar year are available within the EU.

What you will do
- Build and ship AI-powered full-stack products from idea through production.
- Develop scalable backend services with Python and FastAPI.
- Design, deploy, and operate production systems on AWS.
- Make architectural and technical decisions, contribute to code reviews, and own end-to-end delivery.
- Build practical GenAI solutions and evaluate when LLMs add value over ML models or heuristics.
- Own reliability, observability, performance, and AI-assisted development workflows.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping production software.
- Strong Python skills; Python is central to the role.
- Hands-on AWS experience or a similar cloud provider is essential.
- Experience with FastAPI, cloud architecture, and production systems.
- Practical experience with GenAI and AI-assisted development.
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or similarly fast-moving environment.
- Ability to own problems from architecture through coding, deployment, and production.
- Pragmatic engineering mindset, strong communication skills, and ability to make independent technical decisions.
Nice to have
- Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code experience.
- TypeScript, Angular, or React.
- Microservices and data pipelines.
- Experience with finance, markets, trading, or investment products.
