Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Hybrid working from the Brussels or Antwerp office, Belgium

What you will do

• Identify valuable client applications for AI and turn operational challenges into deployable solutions.
• Design and implement LLM-based systems, including autonomous agents, RAG pipelines, workflow automation, and conversational interfaces.
• Integrate AI solutions with client APIs, databases, and business tools while complying with GDPR, the EU AI Act, and model licensing requirements.
• Benchmark foundation models, rapidly prototype solutions, and validate ideas with users using tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and pgvector.
• Drive adoption through training, stakeholder communication, and iterative improvements in production.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, business stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.

Requirements

• Background in computer science, AI, or a related technical field; a degree is usual, but demonstrated ability to build is valued.
• At least 2 years of professional experience; strong graduates with substantial LLM projects are encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on LLM experience in production, research, or substantial personal projects, including advanced prompting, RAG, fine-tuning, agent orchestration, and systematic model-output evaluation with evaluation sets and regression testing.
• Strong Python skills and the ability to learn languages required by client environments.
• Experience integrating APIs and connecting heterogeneous systems.
• Ability to understand client context, prioritize useful solutions, and deliver value quickly.
• Ability to support non-technical teams through teaching, active listening, and cross-functional communication.
• Fluent English, French, and Dutch required.
• Willingness to take responsibility for high-value engagements in a growing AI practice.

Nice to have

• German proficiency; support is available for learning German.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK, or similar applied AI frameworks.
• Experience deploying and operating solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to MLOps or LLMOps, including model CI/CD, prompt versioning, evaluation pipelines, and observability.
• Strong understanding of vector databases, embeddings, neural networks, and latent space.
