Staff Accountant (AI)

What you will do

• Own accounts payable, employee expenses, procurement workflows, transaction coding, approvals, documentation, and exception tracking in Ramp.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and close schedules to support an accurate and timely month-end close.
• Maintain bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations in NetSuite, investigating discrepancies and validating balances.
• Resolve vendor onboarding, purchasing, approval, and contract renewal exceptions while maintaining procurement controls and policy compliance.
• Support fixed asset, depreciation, lease accounting, audit requests, sales tax filings, and annual 1099 reporting.
• Identify repetitive accounting tasks and implement AI-powered automation with appropriate human review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with accounting systems and financial workflows.
• Practical AI fluency for research, information organization, exception analysis, and repeatable workflow improvement, with output validation.
• Ability to orchestrate AI workflows by breaking processes into steps, identifying automation opportunities, and applying human review where judgment or controls matter.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, discrepancy investigation skills, and ownership of accurate results.
• Proactive, collaborative communication, early risk escalation, curiosity, adaptability, and a drive to improve.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite and Ramp.
• SaaS or multi-entity accounting experience.
