Accounting Manager (AI-forward)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid with three days per week in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

A crowdsourced commercial real estate data platform providing lease and sale comparable data to brokers, appraisers, and institutional investors.

What you will do

• Own the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, close checklists, cash and bank reconciliations, payroll and benefits reconciliations, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Build and operate AI-assisted workflows for reconciliations, flux commentary, recurring entries, and close automation with human review and audit-ready documentation.
• Coordinate the annual audit and PBC requests, and manage revenue accounting between Ordway and NetSuite, including deferred revenue.
• Oversee the two-person Belgrade accounting team, including intercompany accounting and consolidation.
• Own recurring compliance covering sales tax, 1099s, state filings, and 401(k) remittances.
• Recommend improvements to controls, accounting policies, and controllership processes.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of accounting experience, including experience as the number two on a monthly close and annual audit in a senior accountant, assistant controller, or accounting manager capacity.
• Experience in a SaaS company or public accounting.
• Experience managing or mentoring accountants, including remote or international team members.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Multi-entity or foreign subsidiary consolidation experience.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience.
• Experience using AI or automation tools to reduce accounting work time, with examples that can be demonstrated.
• A builder’s mindset and willingness to work at every level.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ordway, Ramp, or Avalara.
• CPA or progress toward a CPA.
