Legal Discovery Program Manager (AI)

Location: San Francisco or New York; hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is available to new employees.

Salary: $216K–$240K plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and scale discovery operations, core processes, standards, vendor strategy, information governance programs, and related initiatives.
• Partner with Legal, Engineering, IT, Security, Privacy, outside counsel, and vendors to translate legal requirements into tooling, integrations, and preservation workflows.
• Drive AI and agentic discovery initiatives from use-case identification through evaluation, piloting, adoption, and impact measurement.
• Guide complex discovery matters and escalations in litigation, regulatory, and investigation contexts.
• Track outcomes and communicate priorities, risks, resource needs, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in discovery, litigation support, legal operations, or related work, including significant ownership of complex discovery programs.
• Experience leading projects and programs at a fast-paced technology company and building and launching programs from the ground up.
• Deep understanding of the discovery lifecycle, including preservation, collection, review, and production, as well as the practical needs of litigation, regulatory matters, and investigations.
• Strong working knowledge of eDiscovery platforms, enterprise data systems, and information governance; ability to work with technical teams on requirements, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing discovery vendors and outside counsel, assessing service quality and costs, and driving improvements when delivery falls short.
• Strong program management and analytical skills, including prioritization, dependency management, milestone setting, and data-driven decision-making.
• Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and the ability to build trust and influence partners without direct authority.
• Strong ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and a practical, resourceful approach to problem-solving.
• Interest in learning and applying AI to legal work.
