What you will do

• Steward the architecture, technical direction, and long-term health of web systems.
• Drive high-impact improvements to products, reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing scalability, maintainability, security, and customer value.
• Lead AI-first engineering practices, including agent-assisted development and AI-powered code review with appropriate quality safeguards.
• Mentor engineers, distribute technical ownership, and raise team capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and other departments to deliver cohesive customer experiences.

Requirements

• Experience shaping architecture and technical direction for significant production systems.
• Hands-on engineering experience using AI extensively and critically evaluating its output.
• Curiosity and adaptability when learning new technologies, languages, and approaches.
• Strong backend, distributed-systems, and modern web application fundamentals.
• Pragmatic judgment across speed, maintainability, security, and long-term system health.
• Technical leadership demonstrated through judgment, collaboration, and execution rather than formal authority.
• Motivation to build meaningful products, improve team practices, and help other engineers succeed.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with hirify.global products or live-production workflows in worship, broadcast, sports, or live events.
• Experience with PHP/Laravel, React, TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Cloudflare, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with commerce, billing, identity, licensing, entitlements, or APIs serving desktop applications.
• Experience modernizing mature systems, improving developer workflows, or implementing AI-assisted development practices.
