Platform Engineer (Azure DevOps)

Annual full-time base salary: $135,000–$165,000

What you will do

• Develop and maintain CI/CD automation pipelines and tactical release automation plans for products at different maturity levels.
• Deploy and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure and applications across compute, networking, storage, and identity services using Terraform and Azure DevOps.
• Enable developer self-service through reusable Terraform modules, standardized AWS environments, and automated provisioning workflows.
• Administer and govern Azure DevOps projects, repositories, pipelines, permissions, boards, integrations, templates, branch policies, and service connections.
• Improve platform reliability through observability, incident troubleshooting, high availability, automated recovery, and platform health monitoring.
• Partner with engineering, security, infrastructure, architecture, compliance, Agile delivery, and business stakeholders; lead Azure DevOps governance forums and maintain platform standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically including 1+ years in a Senior Associate role or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and development related to infrastructure operations.
• Experience implementing Kubernetes and service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd, and implementing Karpenter for cloud API scaling.
• Proficiency designing and building stateful and stateless AWS applications and expertise with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Extensive hands-on enterprise administration experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, including organizations, projects, repositories, pipelines, boards, artifacts, permissions, process templates, extensions, and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, branch policies, repository governance, code reviews, YAML pipelines, variable groups, environments, approvals, agent pools, and service connections.
• Experience configuring Azure Boards for Agile, Scrum, and Kanban teams, including backlogs, sprints, area and iteration paths, queries, dashboards, and delivery tracking.
• Strong DevOps security knowledge covering least privilege, secrets management, secure service connections, auditability, privileged access, and policy enforcement.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across permissions, pipelines, repositories, integrations, boards, identity, and platform configuration; communicate clearly, guide users, lead governance decisions, document standards, and drive action items to completion.
• Experience partnering with engineering, Agile delivery, security, infrastructure, compliance, architecture, and business stakeholders, with strong documentation discipline for standards, procedures, runbooks, and user guidance.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure or Azure DevOps certifications.
• Experience with Azure, Entra ID, identity and access management, service principals, managed identities, and enterprise authentication models.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, security-as-code, and DevSecOps operating models.
• Experience with Wiz, Git, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps reporting and dashboards, Analytics Views, OData, REST APIs, Power BI, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or scripting automation.
• Experience in regulated, security-conscious, or audit-driven environments and defining enterprise DevOps standards for naming, project lifecycle, repository hygiene, pipeline controls, and access governance.
