ServiceNow Associate Software Engineer (ServiceNow)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, or hirify.global Toronto One York; hybrid work with the option to work from the office and virtually based on business, client, and employee needs.

Base pay range: CAD 60,000–91,500 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise software applications and integration solutions.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs.
• Write and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Provide application support, resolve incidents, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system and project documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, champion security and compliance practices, and join rotational on-call support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Either a recent graduate with 0–2 years of internship/co-op experience, or 3–5 years of software development or application support experience.
• Hands-on programming experience with JavaScript, Python, or a similar language.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with scripting and automation, including PowerShell or shell scripting.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts, Agile, and DevOps.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, clear communication, collaborative teamwork, a passion for learning, and a customer-first mindset.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow development experience, including scripts, UI policies, and security rules.
• Third-party risk management knowledge and exposure to financial systems or enterprise applications.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, or modern data platforms.
• Experience with automation frameworks, workflow tools, IT service management processes, or onsite-offshore delivery models.
