Applications Developer, Workday

Location: Toronto, Canada, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: CAD 93,500–110,000, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, and enhance Workday modules for Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, and HCM.
• Gather requirements from People Operations, Compensation, Payroll, and other business teams and translate them into Workday solutions.
• Build and maintain business processes, custom reports, security settings, and related configurations.
• Support US and international payroll configuration, troubleshoot errors, and assist with ongoing payroll processing.
• Own Benefits configuration, enrollment events, Open Enrollment readiness, and integration updates.
• Support acquisitions, global expansion, new Workday functionality, and the release cycle through feature review, regression testing, and rollout decisions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering and configuring Workday, with deep knowledge across PATT, Benefits, and HCM.
• Experience configuring Workday business processes, building custom reports, configuring security, and maintaining system functionality.
• Strong understanding of HR processes and Workday support for People Operations, Payroll, Compensation, and related functions.
• Ability to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and independently deliver practical system solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Workday integrations, including PECI, RaaS, EIBs, data flows, APIs, and Workday Studio.
• Interest in using automation and modern AI tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
