TL;DR
Senior Azure & Microsoft 365 Technical Architect (Azure/Microsoft 365): Owning the Azure platform and Microsoft 365 environment while validating architecture, security, identity, disaster recovery, monitoring, and operational readiness with an accent on secure cloud operations and business-critical financial-services systems. Focus on designing and testing recovery and failover procedures, governing Entra ID access, tuning service-health monitoring, managing Terraform and Azure DevOps, and resolving distributed production issues.

What you will do
- Own Azure subscriptions, landing zones, networking, compute, databases, and Microsoft 365 tenant configuration across current and legacy platforms.
- Validate deployed infrastructure against architecture and security requirements, including ingress, DNS, certificates, access controls, and Azure Policy guardrails.
- Govern Entra ID, Conditional Access, authentication flows, RBAC, PIM, service identities, guest and client-facing identities, access reviews, and joiner/mover/leaver processes.
- Assess disaster recovery capabilities, dependency mapping, RTOs/RPOs, backups, replication, point-in-time restoration, regional failover, and restore-test evidence.
- Improve monitoring with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL, and Application Insights; troubleshoot infrastructure, applications, APIs, and integrations.
- Maintain Terraform modules and state, detect configuration drift, support Azure DevOps pipelines, develop PowerShell automation, and coordinate technical decisions with external providers.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including platform engineering, tenant administration, security configuration, Active Directory servers, and Mimecast email security.
- Experience with cloud architecture, engineering, and operations in business-critical production environments, preferably in financial services, including FinOps and cost optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Conditional Access, Azure RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, identity governance, Azure networking, compute, databases, backup, replication, and restoration.
- Practical experience with disaster recovery, service-health monitoring, alert tuning, distributed API-driven services, Terraform, Azure DevOps CI/CD, PowerShell, and Azure Policy.
- Strong technical documentation and runbook-development skills, with sound independent judgement and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Familiarity with Bicep or ARM templates.
- Experience supporting security audits and working with multiple external technology suppliers.
- Experience applying AI tools in Microsoft 365 or IT operations.
