Senior FP&A Analyst (AI Cloud/Data Center Finance)

Location: Hybrid, with presence in the San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue office 4 days per week; Tuesday is the designated work-from-home day.

Annual salary: $169,000–$225,000 in San Francisco/San Jose; $152,000–$203,000 in Bellevue.

What you will do

• Build and maintain budgets for data center construction, site improvements, power and cooling infrastructure, commissioning, and operating costs.
• Track actual costs, commitments, change orders, estimates to complete, contingencies, and total project costs.
• Translate construction milestones, payment schedules, commissioning plans, and deployment changes into cash forecasts.
• Develop driver-based operating cost models using capacity, deployed GPUs, power consumption, utilization, rates, and contract terms.
• Evaluate new sites, expansions, and infrastructure commitments through returns, payback, sensitivity analysis, and site-level investment models.
• Prepare reporting for business reviews, executives, and the Board while improving planning workflows, infrastructure data quality, and repeatable models in Pigment and AI-assisted tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in FP&A, project finance, infrastructure finance, or a related analytical role.
• Experience managing project budgets, capital spending forecasts, or operating cost models in data centers, construction, energy, telecom, or another capital-intensive business.
• Understanding of how project commitments, actual costs, estimates to complete, and payment timing translate into financial forecasts.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, including driver-based models and investment returns and scenario analysis.
• Comfort working with enterprise planning systems and building repeatable, automated workflows rather than one-off spreadsheets.
• Ability to reconcile financial and operational data, identify variance causes, and provide practical recommendations.
• Clear communication with finance, engineering, construction, and operations stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with data center development, construction, or commissioning, including estimate-to-complete and contingency tracking.
• Familiarity with colocation and lease contracts, ASC 842 lease accounting, power procurement, or PPAs.
• Exposure to project finance, SPV structures, or powered land development.
• Familiarity with GPU infrastructure, site capacity metrics such as MW and PUE, or cloud infrastructure unit economics.
• Working proficiency in SQL or BI tools and experience with Pigment, NetSuite, or Coupa.
• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth organization.
