Principal, Financial Planning and Analysis (Cloud & AI)

Location: Mountain View, USA

Base pay: $132,000–$227,000 per year, depending on geographic market, knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Partner with business and engineering leaders on investment decisions, resource allocation, and cloud strategy.
• Evaluate total cost of ownership, ROI, build-versus-buy decisions, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, planning, recurring business reviews, and executive reporting.
• Analyze cloud infrastructure and AWS KPIs, including CPU, memory, GPU, storage, and capacity utilization.
• Improve financial processes, reporting automation, dashboards, and analytical frameworks for cloud economics and business performance.
• Translate technical and operational metrics into actionable financial recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience in investment banking, strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, management consulting, business operations, or related analytical roles.
• Experience driving strategic decision-making and operational execution in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, business planning, and quantitative analysis skills.
• Experience translating large, complex datasets into actionable recommendations and executive-level insights.
• Experience managing recurring business rhythms, operating reviews, planning cycles, forecasting processes, and performance reporting with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analytics tools.

Nice to have

• MBA or equivalent experience.
• Experience in technology, cloud computing, SaaS, AI, infrastructure, data centers, platforms, or digital businesses.
• Background at a leading investment bank, top-tier consulting firm, major technology company, or high-growth startup.
• Strong understanding of cloud economics, infrastructure investments, technology business models, and scaling operations.
• Experience operating effectively in ambiguous environments while maintaining operational discipline and attention to detail.
• Experience partnering with engineering, product, operations, and business leaders on investment and resource allocation decisions.
