QA Engineer (FinTech)

Location: Hybrid, two days per week in Porto; candidates must be based in Portugal and have Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Perform software quality assurance for financial markets, investment banking, or electronic trading environments.
• Test trading life cycles and financial asset classes, including fixed income or derivatives.
• Use or validate FIX (Financial Information Exchange) Protocol integrations.
• Work with log parsing tools, Linux environments, and basic shell scripting.
• Collaborate within Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, preferably in FinTech, investment banking, or electronic trading environments.
• Solid understanding of financial markets, asset classes such as fixed income or derivatives, and trading life cycles.
• Familiarity with log parsing tools, Linux environments, and basic shell scripting.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Understanding of basic algorithms.
• Fluent English at B2 level is mandatory.
• Availability for a hybrid regime two days per week in Porto, with residence and work authorization requirements in Portugal.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with the FIX Protocol.
• Proficiency in writing test automation scripts using Python or C#.
• Experience with testing tools.
• Fluent French at B2 level.
